Climate

Summit County has a high-alpine climate characterized by long, snowy winters and pleasantly warm, dry summers with low humidity. Average annual snowfall is around 108 inches, with some areas receiving up to 280 inches, making it a world-class winter destination. Winter temperatures typically hover in the mid-20s to high 30s, while summer temperatures average in the low to mid-70s.

Elevations range from about 7,500 to over 14,000 feet, so weather can change rapidly, and snow is possible even in late spring or early fall.
